A little post about a very big thing that happened last year.
Cambridge Independent host a yearly awards ceremony for businesses across Cambridgeshire to celebrate small and medium enterprises. It showcases the counties talent and shines a lights on certain individuals that have been doing great things in a host of different categories.
I was chuffed when I made the finalists for this category earlier in the year, but on the 13th October 2022 - I actually won Business Woman of the Year! 😱🤯😱🤯😱🤯😱🤯
💃 I WON 💃
The award also came with an invite to the national finals (in Wembley. Bloody. Stadium). I mean. WHAT. How did we get here guys?! It's not really sunken in yet, not properly.
Unfortunately, I had booked a Christmas market over the finals date so wasn't able to attend, but to have won this regional round was a real confidence boost.
My award, which already has grubby finger marks all over it (thanks kids) is up on my office shelf and I'm back in the kitchen, covered in sugar, prepping tasters for wedding consultations and finishing off postal orders.
I keep sneaking a look at it though, just making sure it's real and last night wasn't something I just dreamt up 🤷🏽♀️🙃🤣.
What a whirlwind.
