ANZAC overload

I have seen these little babies popping up all over the place, mainly due to the recent (ish) Australia day celebrations. I felt like I was missing out, so I popped to the shop, bought me some dessicated coconut and started scrolling back through my browsing history to find the recipes I had stumbled across.

Both PeanutButtered and GottaGetBaked versions hit high on my lists. For my first attempt at these pretty little tea time treats, I used Peanut Buttered‘s recipe (here).

Not wanting to miss out on any chocolate action though, I added a spoonful of melted chocolate to half the batter (/dough?!) and sprinkled these ones with more melted chocolate once cooled for a nod towards GottaGetBaked‘s version (here).

They are a little on the thin side I reckon (will do better next time!), but still had the chew inside that both posts talked about…. and they disappeared quickly enough so can’t have been that bad!

What do you think to my first attempt at the ANZAC cookies?

  1. Love your take on the Anzac biscuits. I am a huge fan of chocolate, so this would be a good one to try. Maybe Ill try them out amongst the aussies and see what they think!

  2. I’m so happy I inspired you to drizzle chocolate over these gorgeous Anzac cookies! I can never say it enough: chocolate makes everything better πŸ˜‰ I actually like the flatness of your cookies – mine were big fat chubbers. Either way, I’d gladly eat these – Anzac cookies are delicious!
